Work for the good of the city to which I have exiled you; pray to Yahweh on its behalf, since on its welfare yours depends. Jer. 29:7 (NJB)
Jim and his wife Liz have lived and served in Kyiv, Ukraine for a dozen years. Jim currently serves as a ReachGlobal Area Leader on the Europe Division Leadership Team, which finds him in a number of places throughout Europe and the US. After years of focus on “our” city (serving as City Team Leader), his current role on ReachGlobal’s Catalyst Team is opening some great opportunities for learning new things and finding new applications for what they’ve learned over the years. Jim holds an MDiv with a specialization in Christianity and Contemporary Culture from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He loves to read and listen to music, his tastes in both being rather eclectic…if it’s “popular,” he probably doesn’t like it (much to the chagrin of his teenage daughter, Marina).
Jim and Liz currently live in a 150-year-old grist mill on a creek outside of Appomattox, VA. When Jim isn’t in Europe, he and Liz are working to develop their little place in the woods as a retreat/training/outreach center that might bring seekers after truth and servants of the King together from a variety of places and cultures to create and celebrate community. Wherever he finds himself, Jim is seldom without a musical instrument–at least a harmonica–since performing music with others has proven an effective means of connecting hearts, souls and tappin’ feet across most any lines he’s seen drawn.
